Why these work

Most founders ask for feedback the wrong way. They say "can I pick your brain?" or "would this be useful?"

These scripts get better responses because they're specific, time-bounded, and focused on the person's current reality.

Goal: Get 3-5 people to talk to you about how they currently handle the problem you're solving.


Script 1: DM to existing users

Subject: Quick question about [specific workflow]

Hi [Name],

I noticed you've been using [our product] and wanted to ask about something specific.

We're working on [specific feature] and I'm curious - how do you currently handle [specific situation]?

For example, when you need to [specific task], what's your process right now?

Quick 15-minute chat this week? Happy to hop on a call or even just exchange a few messages here.

Script 2: Cold outreach (LinkedIn/Twitter)

Subject: How do you handle [specific problem]?

Hi [Name],

I saw your post about [specific thing related to their work] and it reminded me of something I've been researching.

I'm building [one-line product description] and trying to understand how people like you currently handle [specific workflow/problem].
